Abstract
The ces8210 product contains code to operate the CES CBD8210 VME-CAMAC Parallel Branch Highway for VME embedded processors running Linux and VxWorks, and SGI machines which contain an internal VME bus (R3000 to R4400).

We supply a library for the ANSI/IEEE Std 758-1979 CAMAC calls which access the VME bus directly in Linux and VxWorks, and the /dev/vme/vme0a16s driver in IRIX. The library has been tested with the Motorola MVME2301 and MVME2604 VME based single board computers (SBCs) running Linux 2.2.9 and with the MVME162, MVME167 and MVME2301 SBCs running VxWorks 5_3d. The IRIX version was last tested with SGI's running IRIX 6.2.

The CBD8210 does not support block transfers, so the ANSI/IEEE subroutines that require this support repeat single word transfers to allow users to port their code easily between platforms. Each CAMAC transfer takes about three microseconds.

There is no support for LAMs to interrupt the CPU in the software.

Please refer to documentation included in the ces8210 product for installation and use.
