FB_STD Readme File  |  Documentation Abstract fb_std is an implementation of the IEEE FASTBUS Standard routines designed to support any FASTBUS master running under VxWorks Operating System. VxWorks is a Real Time operating system implemented by WRS (Wind River Systems). fb_std has been extensively used for the FSCC ,the Fastbus Smart Crate Controller, with an embedded 68020 processor and for the FRC, Fastbus Readout Card, also implemented at Fermilab, with an embedded R33000 processor. Besides the on-board support library a remote layer is also available to invoke the routines from a UNIX host using RPC (Remote Procedure Call). A TCL interface is also available to issue FASTBUS commands either locally or remotely. A GUI interface that uses TK is supported for the remote layer. fb_std has been periodically modified to support new releases of the hardware version of the board and the current version, v2_6, is strictly supported for pc4b board release.
